Audience Feedback

For our audience feedback, I asked a member of the other media class to watch our film and give some feedback to help us if we were going to do it again. I pick someone from the other class so they could give feedback on just the film opening and not how we work as a group.
Katie Parkinson said that she noticed key camera shots and angles in our film which helped the film to build a climax during the 2 minute film opening, she said that she could see fast paced cuts to the film which was a good sign of good editing and helping to build tension .
Katie said that the editing to good for someone who had never used the mac programmes before or taking media studies in year 10 and 11. She said that all the actors in the film acted professional by not looking at the camera and showing good facial expressive to help build and show the audience the feeling and emotions in the film.
One negative about the film that Katie believed could of been changed in the film was some of the cuts did not work with the film, as some shots did not link together and  others made the audience know what will happens next. As a group we did not want the audience to know what was going to happen, we wanted to build the tension.

Final Project Evaluation

For our final project Amelia cheated on her boyfriend and was killed by Stevie a couple of days later, what Stevie did not know that Chloe was watching Stevie. We follow the film a year later when Chloe returns to Amelia last resting place, Stevie is also there to show her respect to Amelia. We wanted to add Chloe in the film more because she joined our group late and ever though she completed some of the editing whist I was no holiday, we wanted Chloe to be more involved.

We did change our storyline at number of time but we stuck to the real-life story that our story was based on. Our story was based on a young girl who was killed by her boyfriend how a bet, that is the reason we called our film 50/50. We did not want to repeat the storyline exactly but we wanted to have certain elements of her story in our film. We also changed the costumers for our character, we originally had our character in chav like costumers e.g. tracksuits, hoddies and ugg boots. As we changed the storyline, the costumers did not match the storyline and the group of people who were in the film.

We used a range of different shots in our film to increase our marks. We believed that if we used a range of shots it would make the opening of the film would have more of an impact. We used shots like point of view for when Chloe puts the flower by the tree, mid shot and long shot when both girls are walking towards the scene of Amelia death. We also embraced the non-diegetic sound in the scene to allow the scene to seem more real.

For our media institution we use 'Lion gates' as we believe that is reflected the thriller genre that we wanted to show in our film. Our group did not have Hollywood or a British film in mind when we created it but looking back I would say it was a British film as it may show a life within Britain which our target audience may relate to. Our target audience was between the age range of 16-21 years of age, we would hope that chav within our target audience would go a see the film. If I was going to compare our film to a real life film it would be something like Adulthood as it reflects issues it our film which some face in Adulthood. Our original film idea was based on a social group of chav who cause trouble, the gender of our groups within the film would be a group of girls and a group of boys.

In my group I believe that we all work fairly and equally. We all had roles in the making of the film so we were  all working on something. Our original group of myself, Amelia Scott and Stevie Clark worked well but having Chloe Taris group a couple of week before the first deadline after problem with her own group help massively as when I went on holiday Chloe was able to take over on the editing.
Overall I am very pleased with our film as we used different camera shots like mid shot, long shot and point of view shot. I also feel that we changed our story line to many times and we could have changed our location and setting of the film. I feel that overall our opening of two minutes has worked well and has given us a variety of idea's on which we can elaborate on in the future or when producing future films. We decided to only include one type of backing music as it created a better atmosphere into the film, and worked well when fading out so that you would be able to hear the diegetic noises within the film which is from the speaking and noise of Amelia's head banging up against the tree.

Trouble With Filming

To extend our film we needed to add a extra 40 seconds on the end of our film. We decided to have the film 1 year later after Amelia's death. We would have Stevie walking up towards the tree where Amelia was killed, Chloe and me would act as Amelia's best friend who is laying flowers for her.  We wanted Stevie to walk to the tree first and chloe and me to follow afterwards. Amelia filmed the sections but because we did not use a tri-pod the filming was not use able. One member in the film was not in the frame so she could not be seen. We when changed our film so I would film and Chloe and Stevie would continue the dialog as planned. We also had a problem with the diegetic sound in the film, would decided to mute that part of the film and part music over it. We also had a problem with the brightness in some parts of the film. Our teacher told us that could change the brightness on the film to make it the same but we tried to cut out the section where the lighting was different to the original film and make them look the same.

Change In Members

Due to unforeseen circumstances within another group, Chloe Ttaris has joined ouroriginal group of me, Stevie Clark and Amelia Scott. At first we was not sure on how we would be able to include Chloe but fortunately we came up with a new idea which involves of Chloe being included within our film, she is playing the part of a girl who finds Amelia hurt on the floor with me running away. Chloe has also included herself by editing the footage and linking each scene together. With an extra addition to our group it has helped encourage us to explore different ideas and include a lot more variety of camera techniques as now each member was able to have a go at recording, this has helped very much as we have made our original idea much more in depth and now our footage includes a variety of different techniques. I feel that each of us has contributed well with the new member and when completed our two minute footage shall be very good.

Story Plan

The plot of our story has changed once again. We have changed it so it went ack to the orginal idea of the girlfriend cheating on her boyfriend and her best friend finding out. When we watched back our filming it looked better if we back to the orgianal story line. The scene would inclued Saff and Ameila talking about not letting Stevie and Nigel finding out about the kiss. Nigel and Stevie then enters to see Saff and Amelia together and asks what is going on.

Film linked to costumes

The film Adulthood is a film that reflects our characters and costumes of our original film idea. This also reflects some social group in society today.  Our idea was based on two group   within school, a girl and boy group.
The costumes in adulthood are tracksuits for both girls and boys, the boys wear black and dull colours and the girls wear lighter colours. The guys in our film with be wearing the same styled tracksuits but in different colours and that is the same for the girls.
We used Adulthood as a stereotype which is used in society today, many teens are stereotyped as bad people which it shown in adulthood.

Animatic

This is my groups animatic, it also contains our titles and production team names. The animatic shows the first two minute of the film opening and shows the two gangs and the killing of the young girl.  At the moment we have no music but it is a working process. The animatic was filmed in our media class so the setting is not the same as the correct setting and the pictures are not very detailed.
