Story Plan

The plot of our story has changed once again. We have changed it so it went ack to the orginal idea of the girlfriend cheating on her boyfriend and her best friend finding out. When we watched back our filming it looked better if we back to the orgianal story line. The scene would inclued Saff and Ameila talking about not letting Stevie and Nigel finding out about the kiss. Nigel and Stevie then enters to see Saff and Amelia together and asks what is going on.

Film linked to costumes

The film Adulthood is a film that reflects our characters and costumes of our original film idea. This also reflects some social group in society today.  Our idea was based on two group   within school, a girl and boy group. 
The costumes in adulthood are tracksuits for both girls and boys, the boys wear black and dull colours and the girls wear lighter colours. The guys in our film with be wearing the same styled tracksuits but in different colours and that is the same for the girls. 
We used Adulthood as a stereotype which is used in society today, many teens are stereotyped as bad people which it shown in adulthood. 

Animatic

This is my groups animatic, it also contains our titles and production team names. The animatic shows the first two minute of the film opening and shows the two gangs and the killing of the young girl.  At the moment we have no music but it is a working process. The animatic was filmed in our media class so the setting is not the same as the correct setting and the pictures are not very detailed.  

Change of Plan.

Before we started filming we changed our plans with the gang. We original had a couple of member of each gang but we needed to change it so where was three girls and three boys, six in total. We then change the idea so it would fit the amount of member in the gang.  We have changed it so Amelia with kiss her current boyfriend Ben Harris but then cheats him with Saff. They both came up with a plan to get her back for playing them off against each other..

Film Timeline 2

The film timeline is our rehearsal timetable that will help us as a group, film our film opening in time for the final deadline. We discussed that we were going to use all us lessons in the week to start filming certain scenes. For the first couple scene we only need certain members of the cast like Ben Harris who we be in the kiss scene at the start.

The Setting

This is the forest where the girl would be taken away by her ex boyfriend. Hopefully the scene should be be a bit darker them this but not to dark as we need some light to film the scene. 
The girl will be walked  through the forest with her ex boyfriend a couple steps behind her finding behind trees and she turns around. She continues to walk until her ex grabs her and drags her away, all you can hear is her screaming and shouting.

Welsh schoolboy 'killed former girlfriend for free breakfast'

Our film is based on the true story of a young girl, who's boyfriend killed her for a free breakfast which was arranged by his mates. As a group we wanted people understand the fear the young girl felt and that the boy was thinking and why is made the choice he did. We wanted the boyfriend to reflect Stevie character in killing Amelia. We thought that the true story would help build a good story line for our film. We are not going to use the same names as the true story as we believe it would be disrespectful to both people involved. We gave up with our name of '50/50' for our film opening, our reason for our film title was the bet was 50/50 and Stevie had the choice to kill Amelia. 
The setting would also be a bit different to the true setting, we would set our film in a woods near our school however they did have a number of different idea on where to set the film opening.

Target Audience

The target audience for the film is between 15 to 21 years olds., as a group we believe that the 15 rating wound be the right age for a film that is using a lot of physical movement that may not be suitable for a younger audience. Some of the other films like adulthood have a higher age range because of the content in the film as it has more violence in it however  we may use one mild violent scene in the film opening. We will also have a kissing scene in the opening as it helps to identify the two main character from the two gangs who are in a relationship at the start of the film opening, this may not be responsible or acceptable to allow young viewers to watch a scene which included that kind of context.  
For the questionnaires we carried out, we found that the most popular genre was thriller/horror for the age range we were looking at. From the results of our questionnaire we created posters which were distributed around areas that our target audience would see them around bus stop, college/school, magazines, TV and shopping centers.

Costumes

Ben Harris who is the male lead will be wearing a plain coloured hoodie with tracksuit bottoms, this will reflect his character.
The other member of the boy gang will be wearing different coloured tracksuit.

The female lead will be wearing a bright colour to the boys e.g blue or pink with a pair of boots like Ugg. This makes both group look like gangs who hang around the streets or parks at nights.

Character and Setting

This is Ben Harris, he will be playing the lead male in our film. Ben is going to be the one who kills a member of the girl gang. He is going to be dressed in a tracksuit with a hoodie to show a gang statues.

This is a park where we may film some of the opening of the film. Many youths hang around in a park and this will help to to set the scene. The picture below with the railings which could be used for the girl to be pushed into to show a struggle. 

The street corner will be where the girl would be seen by her ex boyfriend and follows her toward the park. We may not use the same corner as the one below and above.

Film Ideas

In my group (Amelia, Stevie and AJ) we had the main idea of a thriller film about two gangs, one gang for the girls and the other boys. The background for the start of the film is based on the true story of a boyfriend having a bet with his friends to kill his girlfriend, as a group we thought for having one of girls abduct as she dumps her boyfriend in the opening scene, The boys is not happy with the fact that the girl is not in love with him and wants to get his own back on her. We are going to use a different range of camera shots like close up's, pan shot, point of view and tilt shot. We are also going to use different music to build up tension in the opening scene and use the sound in the scene 

Three Media Techniques.

In my group (Amelia, Stevie and AJ) we went to the main gate to shot 'Match on Action', the main problem we had was in the first shot we opened the gate with two hands, in the second shot we only used one hand, This was hard to show in the editing stage as putting the to clips together meant we had to re-shot that part.

'The Ugly Truth'

The opening of the film 'The Ugly Truth' uses non-diegetic sound in the form of a song. The song 'Hot n Cold' by Katy Perry helps to tell the viewers watching that the main character Katherine Heigl what her love life may be about, there is also diegetic sound from a helicopter which is in the scene at the start. The font and colour of all the opening credits are white with surnames in bold, the main character names like Katherine Heigl show a little white body in the shape of a male or female. a little red heart is then place where they believe love is from e.g. head, soul, heart. The little body them turn into a male for the next character played by  Gerard Butler, the heart when turns into the title, with the heart in the G of ugly. The music starts to fade to lets the busy main character Katherine start to talk, when she enters the office there is still no diegetic sound as the music is still playing. One of the camera angle i noticed was the 180 degree, this is used between Katherine and another character, in this shot they also use point of view them one of the charters are talking. 

My Favorite Film

My favorite film has got to be the twilight sage film's, i read the books and i totally fall in love with all the character, in some parts of the film i can totally relate to Bella's character and the feeling of being in love. I love the way the director of all the film have stuck very closely to the normal book story line to make it easier for the people who have read the books to see the book came to life. All the characters in the book have their own  personalities which help the viewers build up a picture of what the character are going to be like. I don't really have any others reasons why I like the twilight sage, it must just be the excitement and tension that all the characters bring to the film. AJD  xox
